Introduction

Kashyap Jambu Kaushal Nirman Trust, KJKNT, where Kashypa represents Kashmir and Jambhu, Jammu, aims to make a social contribution in transforming India and ushering in a New thoroughly skilled, high tech and manufacturing India!

1. Skills don’t lie in files or on papers, they lie in toiling hands. Skills also cannot be limited to low level job worthiness and blue collar jobs. Skills and Art are closely related and to a large extent are related to creative imagination natural to any boy or girl. The cut throat marks driven degree job education system makes it sure that if any creative, imaginative talent is present in any child at the very primary level, it is cut off and suppressed totally. This, ironically and very unfortunately happens at a time when the talent should have been proactively groomed and cultivated. Innovations or even inventions would have naturally followed and wealth generated.

2. Un-Employment and the reliance for employment almost entirely on government sector have created a catastrophic situation for the whole state in general. But, for us, the dislodged and disjointed KP community it has proved disastrous, as even after getting it like in PM package, the families have got bifurcated and children, old and infirm have been rendered hopeless. Almost same is the case with those families,whose wards have had to thin out any remote or near corner of the world, leaving this hapless community at the brink of almost total extinction.

3. Neither can this community be allowed to vanish in thin air, nor can the creative talent anywhere in the state among any community be left uncultivated and untapped any more for the simple economic survival of us all and, herein may lie a great opportunity for such a learned community as ours, to prove to the world that whose loss it could be or has been to eliminate the community from the social spectrum of the state of J&K!?

4. It is precisely for these reasons that KJKNT was created and is here to seek your support and guidance.
5. The Trust has resolved to establisb an ITI, named after Great engineer of ancient Kashmir, Suyya. Here, modern courses which would produce JOB CREATORS in place of JOB SEEKERS would be pursued

Vision and Mission

In the comity of Nations, India, when it is aiming to be a dollar 5 trillion economy by 2025, finds itself lagging in many aspects of technology and skills not just behind countries like China and G 8, but, even like Indonesia, Malaysia who now excel in Electronic, Electrical and Mechanical Technology and have carved out a niche for themselves in the CHIP Market!

Our emphasis over the Theoretical part of education at the cost of Practical training resulted in a kind of total stagnation in R&D in almost all sectors of Industry and manufacturing resulting in us being left with obsolete technology in a very fast changing world!

Even PM Sriman Narendra Modi is on record having said, as are all his predecessors that there are no readymade answers to Technology transfers and India will have to strive for Technology Generation conforming to the local needs with locally available resources! This requires the broader society to step forward and invest in R&D, Technology incubation, encouragement of Art and science at a war footing because it is the fusion of these two basic learning processes that generates technology!

With the advent of computers and Internet, the education scenario has undergone a tops down change, but, the aware and awakened people in the broader society in India in general, and in a highly problem infested state like J&K, in particular where unemployment is reaching dangerous levels, and, where normal governance is just not possible because of peculiar war like conditions, must rise upto the challenges and save the lots of the future generations here! it is the moral responsibility of the various sections of the society here to awaken the broader society to huge challenges by orthodoxy and backwardness! They must see to it that, while as the people pool in resources for building Temples, Mosques, Gurdawars etc, they are completely averse to pooling resources for R&D, or Businesses through pvt ltd. Companies that would not just create employment, but, change the entire Economic scenario of the whole country!?

KJKNT is in place to bring about a much needed change in the broader society of the whole country!

Target Group

General Youth from J&K State and that segment from our community who couldn't make up to professional colleges or institutions of higher education after passing their 10th/12th Standard exams and the school /college drop outs who couldn't continue with their studies for various reasons and could not get gainful employment, youth that is already possessing some skill and are looking up to enhance and upgrade them.

Tasks in Hand

In order to have a clear statistical understanding of the current status of the KP community youth with respect to the employment and career opportunities, the Trust has undertaken a project to:
1. Create a data base of current employment and educational status of the community youth. 2. Conduct a survey on ground zero to ascertain the No of students who failed to make it to professional colleges/institutions of higher learning after passing 10th/12th Standard.
3. No of students from the community who dropped out from school before passing 10th /12th standard or from the college without completing a degree course.
4. Out of the above how many were able to find gainful employment and how many are left stranded.

Appeal to Community

Thus with the above lofty projects in sight, the Trust makes a sincere appeal to entire KP Community especially those who are based in Jammu Region to help us in our endeavour and provide us with much needed leads and inputs. We also seek help from the youth to come forward and join us and render much needed help in, first carrying out the survey on the lines discussed above for building the data base which will be our main tool to formulate a strategy and action plan for execution of our dream project, and, then in the implementation of our vision and mission.
